Leaving Hamburg
First flight in over 3 months...strange for Colburn's. But like they say...you don't forget how to ride a bike.

Gave our carrier away
We thought we were full before. Now we are really full, but it is only a 30 minute drive to our last hotel. We did try to sell it, but no takers. So the nearby Volvo dealer wins.

Palace grounds
Concert
Without a doubt Prague has had the most amount of cultural things to do. There are concert halls everywhere. Seen at least 15 that play every day.
Here we are at the palace ready to begin listening to the midday concert of classical music.
Mozart did a lot of his premiers here since Czech's did not mind Italian and were more cultured, in Mozart's opinion than Austrians.

Pompei
The city was big! It had a population of 10,000-20,000 in 79 ad when Mount Vesuvius erupted. We walked for an hour and saw only a fraction of the city. It had a theatre, stores, bakery, restaurants, bath houses, big houses, small houses and an arena. The small houses would rent out the front rooms as store fronts. All houses would have an open courtyard with fountains and statues and a receiving room then behind that they had more rooms for only family and good friends. They were beautifully decorated with murals on the walls and decorative mosaic tiled floors. They had water tanks and would drain their dirty water into the street. Then they had the sidewalks raised a foot and at intersections they had raised walkways to not get their feet wet. Even in the rain it was a sight to see. The kids were singing in the rain in pompeii.
Road closed
Road closed because of the trash riots (union wants more money). Still hope to go to Pompeii later today.
Scratch
The road was so narrow it made the previous narrow road seem wide. Literally there was only one inch on either side. Cathy had to climb out the window to direct. We got past it and the told us about their other parking lot. So we decided to get it over with and pass through to park in the other lot. Then turning into the lot was an extreme tight squeeze. The tire was actually against the wall of the building. Once parked we are told that the nearby restaurant is closed because of the 'trash riots'. The hotel employees took pity on us and drove us in their car. Feeling good on the way out since the car had been parked facing out we left. Well...

Replica because we can't take a picture of the real one. However, this is where the real one stood outside until 1908.

Narrow street
It really is as narrow as it looks. Giving directions Cathy said "you have plenty of room on this side." A surprized Roger asked "Really?" Cathy answered "Yes, but my definition of 'plenty' has changed in the last few minutes."
