The field of the battle of Culloden between the Scots and Britons in 1746.

Glenfiddich

After arriving in Aberdeen by ferry we now have to drive all the way across Scotland.

Our first impromtu stop on our new itinerary was the  Glenfiddich distillery on the mail whiskey trail.

Fog

Lots of it

Fog

Fog...yes, we actually drive across the runway.

After 2 weather delay days trying to leave the Shetlands the local people strongly suggested we take the ferry to Aberdeen....so off we go to our 14 hour ferry ride in the north atlantc.

Our Viking / Islands with sheep tour: Greenland to Iceland to Faroe Islands to Shetland Island to Orkney Island to Mainland Scotland.

We had our 2 x mechanical delays and 1 x weather delay (which we are still on)

Also the connections aren't as easy as shown (i.e. we had to go to Copenhagen / Aberdeen for a connection)

Faroes

We arrived to the Faroe Islands...a lot milder that Iceland.

The Faroes have their own language, parliment, and flag, although Danish is taught in all schools. They are called a self governing region of Denmark, but their currency and culture still have strong ties to Denmark.

Pyramid

The Faroes were obviously the developers of the pyramid.
