Sunset at the Grants

Last swim last campfire

Had my last swim last & campfire of the season. Very nice day...perhaps too warm!?

The Grants

Tonight we are at the Grants...a remote anchorage in the middle of the N Channel...we did hear an airplane today. Haven't seen anyone.

incredible weather

Can't believe we are the only ones here!  ... Wonder how far the next human is. ... And cell phone and blogging still works.

The Bejamins

Even late in Sept there were 5 boats here...can only imagine how crowded it is in mid summer.

Very beautiful giant rock.

Topaz Lake

Last night we spent the night at 'the pool' at the end of Baie Fine.  This is one of the most popular anchorages in all of the north channel and tonight we are the only boat here.

During last night hurracaine Ike came over is...gusts were up to 35 knots.  Other than the noise it was not eventful.

This is the weedist anchorage I have ever seen. Not only did the boat have a hard time going through it, it also stopped our generator water inlet. This morning the weeds were so bad in our chain, that it would take a knife and dinghy to pry us out....so we decided to stay an extra day :).

We hiked up to Topaz lake were the water is so alkaline that nothing grow...the swim was great.

Then we hiked to Artist Lake...which was also amazing.

Weeds

Had to get in the dinghy to cut weeds before we left.

Capt Morgan

After last nights grounding we decided to do the official name change ceremony which involved pouring a bottle of Capt Morgan rum on deck, placing the boat on idle for a few minutes, plus much more.

Dallas Falls

We are the entrance of the French river. In 1615 the first Europeans came by the French river and discovered the great lakes.

Campfire

Started this fire without matches...the falls are right next to where we are having dinner.

An incredible amount of mosqitos, but otherwise really nice.

Bad River

Actually went up a 1.5' rapid with the dinghy.
