Unaccompanied Minors!
airport happily unaware of the helplesness their parents were feeling.
The backups were called and on the ready, but the five hourlead time
proved to be just enough time for the kids to be greeted by Mom and
picked up by the rental car full of suitcasesby Dad. It seemed well
planned to them!

Final processing
Gutting it was interesting...would have made a good science lesson. Removed skin first, the slowly open through the middle (careful for unexpected gases :)), then cut off the head (first place where a saw is needed), then quartering.
It was amazing how discrete all the body part are. For experience sake I did do all of it except the final quartering.
My Axis probably weighed 175 lbs...total meat might be 40 lbs.
Axis
Was able to hunt an Axis deer. Apparently this is not a local (exotic African) animal thus there is no limit.
As the deer came into view I became nervous. Took off my ipod and stopped hearing the Wall Street Journal :). As got ready to shoot the deer heard the safety of my rifle disengaging...the 3 deer stared right at me. I quickly took the shot and the deer ran off.
Waited 15 minutes...just in case it was wounded it might run further if it heard me...was a very long 15 minutes. Went to look for it, but could not find it for another 30 minutes.
No blood on the ground, I was in disbelief that I had not hit it...I am actually a good shot ;) Came back to the blind and waited for a new deer.
Later my fried told me to look further than where I thought the deer was. Found it just further down the road...had ran only 15 feet before dying...perfect hit through its heart.
Hunting
It is about 6am and I am on my first hunt...excited. Fun to put on the costume.
Yesterday my first practice shot with a rifle was amazingly accurate....we will see how I do today.
As I went through the camera options on my phone to turn of the clicker I noticed a geo tagging option (gps) that would could have used around the world...bummed...also no way to turn off clicker.
