We 'fell' in

Happy New Year's Eve!

the end of the beach

This area floods very often and
historically anything built on it
will be destroyed by the ocean
eventually.

Yet this whole area
has turned into a [libertarian] town.
[dirt] Roads have sprung up
restaurants, bars, hotels,
[I am stretching the definitions of these a lot], etc.
Places have electricity, running water, etc.
all outside the system.
Almost like seeing a plant grow.

Everyone seems to coexist
and respect the property rights
that others created before they got there...
it is interesting how even now the owners attempt to go closer and closer
to the ocean
to assert their property rights...
I am sure that some of the structures
have to be re-built daily.

By govt law this land is not owned by anyone,
by natural law it is.
Yes, I know that if they ever win the war with the ocean
they will lose it with the government.

We parked the car
and even though
we told the people from the restaurant we only came to see the sunset,
they brought chairs for us so we could see the sunset
from outside the car.
